The answer is "no"! We see why. We look at our equipment: flesh = body, and brain. We see the problem it is that our thoughts produce feelings in the flesh, and how those feelings bias our thoughts. We cannot decide to keep a commandment like "Love the LORD your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength" and then go and do that. We will always get further from God. Who will rescue us? We look at how our salvation must be a gift. We think about the gift of the Holy Spirit and see the importance of realising we have a relationship with God so that we don't try to be filled by the Spirit by following a formula.
