A bad law is enacted by Darius which effectively outlaws God's people. Daniel continues to pray publicly, regularly, in a focused, thankful and dependent way. Our Western church is marked by the lack of prayer. Daniel persists in prayer knowing he is being watched - the credibility of God is tied up with his life. As a result evil seems to win. Good people often fall foul of bad laws. Let us rejoice to carry Christ's name high and commit ourselves to the ultimate justice of God.
