It was costly for Israel to gain their inheritance, just as there were many sacrifices along the way of getting a Christian congregation and building in this village. Israel's salvation from slavery and poverty into freedom and inheritance involved judgement. Judgement follows where we persist in standing in the way of God's purpose. Let us not stand in the way of His purposes locally. We have a Saviour who took the judgement we deserved. We must never take for granted the sacrifice of Christ or of others, but be willing to make our own for the future of the church and community.
