On 1st January 1919, HMY Iolaire was wrecked on rocks outside Stornoway harbour with the loss of 201 lives. The vessel began her journey from Kyle pier.
Acts 27 records another shipwreck, where all 276 lives were saved. We see the importance of people; that they have a time to live and a time to die; that having the right person at the helm of our vessel/ lives is critically important; that we should receive Jesus now, while we have opportunity, and not come close to home, like the Iolaire did, but never make it.
